WEEK TWO OBSERVATIONS

This puppy is growing at the same rate as his peers, despite his smaller size. He is more compact and not long in length or heavy.

Birth:

This puppy was born at 6:00 pm in the sack, butt first. The sack broke upon delivery, which meant his butt was exposed and not his face. He needed help to uncover his face for breathing. He pooped when he was delivered, which helped Dreamer immediately clean him. He is able to walk and move with ease. He understood what the milk bar was right away and latched on with vigor.

TEMPERAMENT TEST #2

This puppy stayed still and quiet during the rough pet. He did not move forward or backward and was silent. This puppy was initially rigid upon the lift, but loosened up within two seconds of the lift. This puppy was silent and still during the lift. This puppy was silent during the turn. He tried once to right himself. Upon finding resistance, he relaxed completely. He did yawn once during the turn, licked the air, then went limp. This puppy did not fight or cry out during the turn. This puppy stiffened slightly during the head pet, but quickly recovered. he was silent and loose during this part of the test. This puppy stayed where he was placed when put back into the den. He laid his head down and closed his eyes. This puppy was not traumatized or upset during any part of the test.

This puppy receives a score of 9 for this second temperament test.

WEEK TWO OBSERVATIONS

This puppy is mostly calm and collected. He continues to remain silent for the most part, only crying out when he is startled or find himself in need of assistance. This puppy is aware of his surroundings and knows where he is most of the time. This puppy no longer worries much when his collar is loosened. He moves about the pen with ease.

WEEK ONE OBSERVATIONS

This puppy has calmed down in his mannerisms some over the week. He no longer grunts/moans/cries with the same consistency as when he was first born. He can get grumpy when moved or when loosening his collar. This puppy will likely show some stubbornness when asked to perform tasks he dislikes or doesn't want to do. This puppy should go to a family who can be consistent in his training and teach him that doing things he may not necessarily want can get him things he does want.

24-HOURS - PERSONAL OBSERVATIONS

This puppy is quick witted and knows instantly when he is moved or displaced. This indicates a high intelligence that may be easily trained whether through experience or formal dog training.

This puppy is consistently vocal, in a talkative way. He shares his feelings of contentedness by groaning during feeding. This puppy also shares is displeasure by crying out when picked up or moved. While vocal tendencies can be altered through training, as puppies are very malleable, without proper instruction or training, this puppy will have a higher tendency to vocalize in the form of barking. This puppy may also show a certain stubborn streak as he grows or may have a bit more energy. This may be the case because he wiggles when moved, showing his desire to get back to his equilibrium (safe space) and not be messed with or moved about unnecessarily. These are not flaws, but aspects of consideration, especially in this second generation from a working line Lab/Shepherd cross.

TEMPERAMENT TEST #1

This puppy is extremely quiet and calm at birth. He only cried out loudly when mom stepped on him harshly just after birth. Otherwise, this puppy is very quiet. This puppy squealed a bit when picked up. He also made soft grunting noises when placed away from mom. This indicates a possible high spacial awareness. He was still and quiet on the scale. This puppy knew right where to go to find warmth and security when placed back with mom. He latched onto mom's milk right away and began feasting - making drinking noises as he drank.

This puppy receives a score of 8.5 for this first temperament test.

WEEK TWO OBSERVATIONS

This puppy continues to remain on the smaller side, although he is growing well. He is fluffier than I expected, with medium length coat showing now.

WEEK ONE OBSERVATIONS

This puppy is the smallest male puppy in the litter, and the second smallest puppy in the litter. He is not robust in his smaller size, though, not delicate in bone structure. This puppy will likely reach ~95 lbs. as an adult and stand around 27 inches tall at the shoulders. A large dog, but not extra-large or giant.

BIRTH NOTES

This puppy is a long male weighing 1 lb. 1 1/4 oz. at birth. He has a long, thin tail. He has four white paws and a long white stripe from his chin to his abdomen. This puppy is large, not extra-large nor giant. The prediction on this birth weight would be that he should reach 97 to 100 lbs as an adult. This puppy has a thin frame, overall.
