This stopped being a science experiment the moment...

Tonight, I made the mistake of reading deeper into Colossal Biosciences’ plans for their genetically engineered “Dire Wolves.”

And I wish I could say I was surprised.

I wasn’t.

Because once humanity convinced itself it could genetically engineer apex predators in a laboratory… the next step was always going to be reproduction.

  • More wolves.
  • More experimentation.
  • More confidence.

Man’s appetite always grows.

What truly unsettled me was realizing how casually the conversation has shifted from “three Dire Wolves” into building a genetically diverse breeding population through assisted reproduction.

In other words…

This is no longer a science experiment.

This is the beginning of a sustained lineage of genetically engineered apex predators.

And I think society is sleepwalking into this conversation with almost no understanding of the long-term consequences attached to it.

The true Dire Wolf belonged to a vanished Ice Age world filled with mammoths, giant bison, and frozen hunting grounds stretching beyond the horizon.

That ecosystem collapsed thousands of years ago.

So where exactly are these engineered wolves supposed to belong?

Inside fenced compounds forever?

Managed preserves for the next hundred years?

What happens when leadership changes?

Funding collapses?

Facilities age?

Human beings make mistakes?

And perhaps most disturbing of all…

What happens when mankind becomes comfortable reproducing a bunch of other genetically altered predators simply because technology made it possible?

That’s why I sat down last night and wrote one of the most serious articles I’ve ever published through the Dire Wolf Project™ because I genuinely believe humanity is approaching a line it may not fully understand until it has already crossed it.

You can read the full article here:

After you read it, I would genuinely love to hear your thoughts because this issue reaches far beyond wolves.

It reaches into the future relationship between mankind, biotechnology, power, and personal restraint.
