Mountain Peaks puppies don't know how to climb?!
By Jennifer Stoeckl, MAT - Dire Wolf Project CEO, Oct. 4, 2024
Oh, hi there!
It’s us—the Mountain Peaks litter from the Dire Wolf Project!
We’re only four weeks old, but let us tell you about the adventure we had yesterday.
Our world just got a whole lot bigger!
It all started when Papa Jay came by and took off the front door to our whelping pen!
He even put in this thing called a ramp.
Now, we could smell the newness in the air.
It was different and exciting, but also a little scary.
There we were, peeking over the edge of our pen.
Our tiny paws gripped the threshold as we looked out into a whole new world.
When our biggest brother, Everest, peered over the edge, he let out the most dramatic howl!
Awooooo!
His slanted eyes closed tight.
He head tilted back.
And he stood on his toes and called out to the universe.
“I want to go down, but I can’t because it’s scary.”
Awooooo!
As much as we wanted to explore the beyond, it seemed like quite the drop from our cozy little den.
And none of us were willing to go first!
Then came Mama Jennifer, our hero.
She saw our struggle and knew we needed a little help.
She took each of us, one by one, and placed our front paws on the ramp.
Oh boy, what an experience!
Our little butts stuck up in the air as we tried to figure out what to do with our back feet.
It’s hard being a puppy!
But Mama Jennifer guided us, helping our back halves follow our front halves, so we could finally get onto the ramp.
What an ordeal!
Everest might be the biggest, but even he needed some extra nudging.
Once we made it down, though—wow!
The backyard was amazing!
It smelled of new grass, earth, and so many exciting things. We sniffed around, poking our noses into everything.
There was so much to explore, we hardly knew where to start!
But eventually all that exploring made us sleepy.
When it was time to go back to the den, some of us looked at the ramp and thought…
“Yeah, no, not happening.”
Luckily, Papa Jay was there to help lift us back up.
We all snuggled together after our big adventure, happy and tired, ready for another day of fun.
We might be small, but with a little help from our people, we're learning that the world is full of wonders just waiting to be explored!

P.S. One newly approved family got their deposit in and became eligible to go active.
They can now pass up the “first come, first served” of getting a puppy OFF the waiting list.
Very smart!
It’s not too late to do the same.
Here’s the link to apply:

As soon as I complete the last puppy sale on the waiting list, the remaining puppies will go up for sale publicly OFF the waiting list.
Then, puppies will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
If you want a puppy, but don’t want the competition - apply, get approved, and send in your deposit.
