Satan, Vacuums, and the Glow-Up of a DireWolf Dog™
By Jennifer Stoeckl, MAT - Dire Wolf Project CEO, Aug. 18, 2025
Every so often, the world pauses mid-scroll and catches sight of our American Dirus dogs™.
And when it does, the reactions are SO entertaining!
Just this past week, a popular Facebook page with over 128,000 followers, Empowering Facts, featured the Dire Wolf Project™.
Their post wasn’t just about how impressive our dogs look, but to my surprise, they also captured their hearts.
===
“While they look like they’ve stepped straight out of the Ice Age, owners report that their personalities are the opposite of fierce—calm, patient, and deeply bonded to their humans. These dogs have become a living tribute to a species that vanished thousands of years ago, blending history, genetics, and companionship into one remarkable animal.”

It’s pretty rare to find a post about us to be so accurate.
Especially in today’s social media badlands, where most only see the fur and fangs.
I was also quite amazed to see they used a photo of one of my puppies from 2019 named Dozer out of the Wolf Cub litter (Stanley/Shennara).
It’s a great picture, but I wonder why they chose a puppy from six years ago.
They definitely had to go searching for that one!
Which means they must’ve done their homework. *gold star earned!
Well, this beautiful puppy has since, of course, grown into a stunning adult.
And now, he looks just like he walked straight out of the La Brea Tar Pits and onto a mountain trail.
I shared the updated picture of Dozer on our own Facebook page, and the response was incredible!
And oh, the comments made me laugh out loud.
- “Is Dyson inventing the ultimate dog hair vacuum cleaner immediately after this?”
Well, if they do, I’m first in line. HAHA! Trust me, this pack can shed enough to line a short-faced bear cave. - “I need 18 of them!!!!!!!!!”
Careful what you wish for. Eighteen of these gentle giants would probably take up an entire Ice Age valley. (Lol, I would know!) - “You have to sell your soul to Satan to get one.”
Mwahaha! Not quite true… our best puppies cost upwards of $5,800, which, if you’re new here, probably sounds like a soul-sucking price… until you realize that’s a pretty great rate for living prehistoric history wrapped in fur that has literally taken us two lifetimes to achieve. (Note: We have many puppies for sale at much lower prices than that, so it’s not all “deals with the underworld” around here.)
Of course, a few confused us with Colossal Biosciences, muttering something about prehistoric DNA and “don’t mess with nature.”
But the best part?
Someone jumped right in to correct them, pointing out that humans have been selectively breeding dogs for thousands of years.
Thank you, random Facebook stranger, for being the unexpected voice of reason in the bitter Ice Age cold that is the Facebook comments section.
The truth is, what we’ve been building since 1988 is no mad science experiment.
It’s a careful, deliberate effort to weave the majesty of the dire wolf into the warmth of a family companion.
And when the world gets a glimpse of our work, (whether they laugh, gasp, or dream of owning 18) it shows us just how much awe these dogs inspire.
So today, I invite you to take a moment and marvel at the transformation of this magnificent American Dirus™ dog for yourself.

Don’t forget to like, comment, and follow while you’re there.
Every little thing you do to engage helps.
Because behind every one of our dogs is not only years of dedicated breeding, but also an ancient spirit, alive and thriving in the modern age.
Together, we carry the howl forward.
Movie Monday!
Today, you’ll need to head on over to our secondary YouTube channel, the Wolf Dog Channel, for our latest movie.
There is major upheaval over in Roanoke, Virginia that you won’t want to miss.
