Someone accused of animal cruelty just applied for a puppy

Not everyone who applies can have one of our puppies.

In fact, if you didn’t know, we perform an extensive Internet check on each family who comes knocking on our door.

Just ask Jody-Lynn!

Once she became our administrative assistant, she was shocked to learn just how much research we do to make sure each one of our precious puppies goes to a good home.

In fact, here is a list of some of the research we perform when reviewing a puppy adoption questionnaire:

  1. Review your property on Google Maps to confirm any fencing surrounding your home.
  2. Find you on social media. If you post offensive, hateful rhetoric, you aren’t getting one of our dogs.
  3. Google search your name. We look for any articles, videos, books, news, court cases, etc. that could affect your application.
  4. Look up your business, if you are self-employed.

One time a self-proclaimed musician applied for one of our puppies. His application looked great. But after reviewing his social media account, we found him to be extremely vulgar, advocating for: drugs, prostitution, and killing people. He owned several fighting dogs and proudly proclaimed how mean they were. Obviously, not all musicians are this way, but this particular rapper was NOT going to get one of our sensitive baby dogs.

APPLICATION DENIED!

Recently, I received an email, not an application, from someone inquiring about our current white puppies for sale.

As I tend to do when meeting someone new interested in our puppies, I Googled his name.

Up popped SEVERAL revealing news articles about this person being convicted of animal cruelty… and having many dogs confiscated from his home.

Red flags waved in front of my computer screen!

**WARNING**

Run, don’t walk, away from this person.

At least that was my first inclination.

until…

I read between the lines.

Emotionally charged rhetoric littered these news articles, drumming up a bunch of nasty comments from the cancel mob.

I hate busy-bodies who can’t keep to themselves… out to rid the world of whatever next outrage they find offensive.

It seems like we have WAY too many of those types in our society at the moment.

I can’t stand them.

So…

Without another glance at those outrageous claims, I went back to my email and asked the person what happened.

He described a horrible situation where unfounded allegations were made against him by a disgruntled neighbor in relation to his German Shepherds. These accusations were ultimately shown to be baseless and he was acquitted of all charges.

Here are Dire Wolf Project headquarters, we believe in the fundamental American judicial principle that someone is innocent until proven guilty. On appeal, the court found this man not guilty.

This man’s life was completely uprooted and the dogs he loved forced from him because of a disgruntled neighbor’s testimony.

Now…

if I had NOT Googled this man’s name, I never would have heard his story.

You never would have read this email.

And a real connection between this person and the Dire Wolf Project would never have been forged.

You see,

Your life matters to us, Jody-Lynn.

If one day you have the privilege of owning one of our amazing American Dirus dogs, you know that every step of the way, from before birth to the moment your precious dog closes its eyes for the last time, the Dire Wolf Project is here for you and your family.

And that’s because…

We don’t just sell puppies. We sell relationships.

P.S. The Iditarod Litter has been OFFICIALLY confirmed! If you are on our waiting list and would like to be considered for a puppy from this litter, reply to this email and let us know.

P.P.S. The jury’s still out on the Celestial Beings litter. I am not able to know for sure at this time. But we will keep a close eye on Clementine this week to observe any growing signs of pregnancy. I will let you know as soon as I know.
