The ultimate, #1, hands-down, best dry dog food on the market today!
By Jennifer Stoeckl, MAT - Dire Wolf Project CEO, Jan. 15, 2026
“Formulated for allergies and digestive health”
“Small-batch dog food”
“Premium dog nutrition”
“Clinically formulated dog food to alleviate allergy symptoms, support sensitive stomachs, and improve skin and coat.”
These are all of the marketing catch-phrases populating the website I opened after receiving an email marketing campaign from Brothers Dog Food this morning.
I receive loads of email marketing from dog brand companies wanting me to become an affiliate marketer for their products.
The majority are from dog nutritional supplement companies…
And if you saw my YouTube video from last month on dog supplements, you’ll understand why I am not interested in wasting my time promoting many companies to you.
In fact, I only endorse three dog-related products (Kuranda Bed, Embark DNA Testing, and NuVet Labs) because I am extremely picky about whom I choose to work.
And after heading over to their site, I quickly learned that Brothers Dog Food will not be one of them.
Their gimmicky claim is that they use whole eggs in their dog food.
Well, that’s not really all that thrilling.
It’s kinda disappointing, actually.
Don’t get me wrong, eggs are a fine ingredient.
And very healthy for dogs to eat.
But 25-year, shelf-stable dried whole egg powder (which is what they use) comes in large, cheap quantities, so it’s not exactly a miracle premium ingredient or anything.
The fourth ingredient down on the list, I found cassava root (also called yuca).
It is prized for its high carbohydrate content and must be thoroughly cooked to remove naturally occurring cyanogenic toxins.
GREEAATT!!
Just what you want in your dog’s food.
Cyanide!
I’m sure the carcinogenic virtues of cassava root have been utterly obliterated through the extremely high cooking temperatures, but still, would you trust it?
It is gluten-free and grain-free, though, so that’s how they get away with keeping those labels on the front of the bag.
And they add pea protein to artificially inflate the protein percentages.
Humph.
The most revealing ingredients in the list at Brothers Dog Food are the digestive enzymes they artificially add in order for your dog to actually be able to process their dog food, since so much of the carb-rich, plant-based ingredients used are not naturally absorbed by a carnivore.
In fact, after looking at the guaranteed analysis, I found that Brothers Dog Food contains…
45% digestible carbohydrates!
(Not including fiber)
NOTE: wild wolves consume somewhere in the vicinity of 1% carbohydrates, much of which is fiber from fur and feathers.
Very nearly half of a dog’s diet as carbohydrates is ludicrous and isn’t nearly close enough to a dog’s ultimate diet ratios to be worth any amount of money.
After all, your dog’s health is on the line!
So, is there a dry dog food that would be worth the money?
Well, actually… there is!
Just look at the AMAZING INGREDIENTS the ultimate, #1, hands-down, best dry dog food on the market today includes:
Chicken, Chicken Meal, Peas, Chicken Fat (Preserved with Mixed Tocopherols), Pea Protein, Ground Miscanthus Grass, Flaxseed, Gelatin, Natural Flavor, Salt, Marine Microalgae, Zinc Proteinate, Iron Proteinate, Vitamin E Supplement, Copper Proteinate, Manganese Proteinate, Niacin Supplement, Sodium Selenite, D-Calcium Pantothenate, Riboflavin Supplement, Vitamin A Supplement, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Folic Acid, Calcium Iodate, Rosemary Extract.
ALL dry dog food MUST contain starch to bind the kibble together and create the brown pellet we know today.
But THIS dry dog food has the absolute LOWEST carbohydrate percentage I’ve ever seen in a dry dog food.
5% digestible carbohydrates!
(Not including fiber)
And… no artificially included enzymes are required because your dog can naturally break down much of these ingredients on its own.
It does have pea protein, which is often used in dry dog food brands to artificially increase protein percentages, but the overall list of ingredients is super low compared to all other dry dog food brands.
There are no preservatives, seed oils, grains or gluten, and the sugar content is extremely low.
Of all the dry dog food brands out there, THIS ONE IS THE BEST ON THE MARKET TODAY.
But I would never buy it.
Because to me…
Convenience is not
more important than money.
Oh, did I mention that this dry dog food is super expensive?
Shucks, I must’ve forgotten that little detail.
One 24.5 lbs bag of this premium low-carb dry dog food is…
$132.99!!
($126.34 if you subscribe and save.)
That’s $5.43/lbs!
So, while it is the ultimate, #1, hands-down, best dry dog food on the market today, I would never buy it.
The optimal carnivore diet for dogs (Prey Model Raw), which is WAY healthier for your dog than ANY dry dog food could ever be, would be much cheaper than that.
Just today, for example, I found 10 lbs of chicken thighs at Winco for $0.78/lbs!
And remember… that bag of the ultimate, #1, hands-down, best dry dog food on the market today was the CHICKEN FORMULA!
What’s that?
What’s the name of the ultimate, #1, hands-down, best dry dog food on the market today, you ask?
Well, before yesterday, I had never heard of it.
However, today I am enlightened!

Now, if I had only one or two dogs, I would not feed dry dog food at all.
Personally, I would forgo the convenience of the little brown pellet for the improved health of a dog’s optimal diet.
Likely adding at least two years to my dog’s lifespan.
If you would like to learn about the ultimate diet for canine nutrition, I wrote an e-book just for you.
Save yourself thousands in vet costs, increase your dog’s lifespan, improve your dog’s health, and take back control of your dog’s nutrition.
