The Worst Dog Food in the World!
By Jennifer Stoeckl, MAT - Dire Wolf Project CEO, Aug. 20, 2025
When you live off-grid without running water, laundry isn’t just laundry.
It’s a mission.
This morning, I loaded the car with an avalanche of dirty clothes, blankets, dog towels, and whelping pads.
The kind of pile that still smells faintly of puppy breath and muddy paws.
Forty minutes later, I pulled into town and carried the overflowing baskets into the laundromat.
Inside, the air was thick with detergent and the constant hum of machines.
I paid the washers, one after another, until every last whelping pad was churning in soapy water.
Then I settled into my routine.
I put on my earbuds and clicked YouTube.
A woman nearby began folding as the dryers roared with that familiar, warm, fabric-softener scent clinging to the air.
That’s when YouTube handed me a surprise.
A new video from Dr. Eric Berg, D.C.
Dr. Berg is a licensed chiropractor turned nutrition expert, known mostly for his work in human health, keto diets, and intermittent fasting.
But this time, he was talking about dogs.
Now, I’ll be honest.
The facts he shared didn’t shock me.
I’ve known the ugly truth about kibble for years.
(After all, that’s how I was able to write an entire book on canine nutrition in the first place.)
What did shock me was how perfectly Dr. Berg laid it all out.
His pacing, visuals, and no-nonsense delivery were the most powerful, engaging explanations for why kibble is so dangerous that I’ve ever seen.
I can talk until I’m blue in the face about this topic, but I’m not a credentialed doctor.
Dr. Berg is.
And sometimes, hearing the truth from a medical professional makes people sit up straighter and listen harder.
That’s why I highly recommend you watch this video.
Even if you already know kibble is bad, you’ve never seen it explained quite like this.
But here’s the thing…
Knowing what’s wrong is only the first step.
The real power lies in knowing what’s right.
That’s why I wrote The Informed Owner’s Guide to Canine Nutrition.
Because once you’ve seen Dr. Berg’s exposé, your next thought will be:
“So what on earth should I be feeding my dog?”
And the answers are more hopeful than you think.
When you feed a proper canine diet:
- You may literally be able to add years to your dog’s life.
- You may save thousands in vet bills. Remember: prevention starts in the food bowl.
- You’ll likely notice improvements almost immediately: a shinier coat, fresher breath, calmer digestion, and a healthier companion at your side.

Three hours later, I packed my neatly folded laundry into the car and drove home with clean clothes, clean whelping pads, and a fresh reminder of just how betrayed our dogs have been by the pet food industry.
Watch the video.
Then open the ebook.
I want all of our American Dirus dogs to live their best lives.
For the health of the pack!

P.S. The video is shocking, but the book is liberating. Together, they’ll change the way you look at your dog’s food forever.
