Three littersRising
By Jennifer Stoeckl, MAT - Dire Wolf Project CEO, April 7, 2023If you are new to our Inner Circle email newsletter, thank you for being a part of our world 5x/week (M-F). We are so glad you have joined us.
This is THE place to receive the latest updates, stories, pictures, and videos of everything you want to know about the Dire Wolf Project.
We also share helpful tips and strategies for living a better life with your dogs.
But, don’t take my word for it.
Kathy, one of our longtime Inner Circle members, shared her excitement:
“I just want to say that I've been absolutely loving the newsletters. At first I was worried that 5X a week would be overkill, but I adore you and Jay's storytelling styles and humorous dramatization of silly puppy antics. It's one of the very few emails I actually stop and read. I love seeing stories about puppies finding their perfect homes and the community helping each other. I am so excited about the YouTube channel and the chance to ‘get to know’ the various puppies.”
Thank you, Kathy. Such kind words.
Kathy is right.
Jay and I have largely moved away from social media.
We are working to share the Dire Wolf Project more intimately with our super fans.
Social media is a place to be entertained… where you scroll quickly down your feed hitting the occasional like button.
Rarely do people stick around long enough to have any substantive interaction with other people.
I feel social media can be a lonely place.
With over 17,000 followers on our Dire Wolf Project FB page, only around 100-200 followers ever saw our posts.
With almost 6,000 followers on our DireWolf Dogs FB page, important announcements were skipped over by 95% of them.
Dismal.
Writing to you directly, it has allowed us to reach you without having to rely on the algorithms to send us to your feed.
Non-stop cutesy posts… continually trying to beat the system… is exhausting.
We got fed up with working so hard for so little in return.
This way, we can have one-on-one conversations with you each work day of the week.
We hope these emails bring you a little ray of sunshine and a bit of joy into your day as you travel about improving your life.
Speaking of joyful things in your life… if you missed the big announcement last week, Jay and I started a YouTube channel specifically for the Dire Wolf Project.
We still have the old one, but the videos are so long ago now… almost a different YouTube era… we felt a newly updated version would be best.
Every Monday… (and TODAY is Monday!)… we post a new video for you about our work here at Dire Wolf Project headquarters.

In this video, we feature the Dock of the Bay litter out of Essex and Narissa.
Don’t forget to like and subscribe so you don’t miss next Monday’s video.
Also, it is important to let you know that the “Mr. Rogers Litter” is now closed to any further activity on the waiting list.
Look for new individual puppy pictures of the Mr. Rogers Litter in tomorrow’s email. They have really grown!
Speaking of how much they have developed in a week; the nine puppies have outgrown their 4x4’ den space. They are now ready to transition to the nursery where they will have much more room to grown. They will also be able to expand their understanding of the world around them.
They receive their shots today and will spend several hours outside acclimating to the weather and the new space. Then, I will travel them back to their den in the house for some rest from their outing.
After a few days, the Mr. Rogers Litter puppies will be able to be full time in the nursery with their momma, Meriwether.
With the Mr. Rogers Litter old enough to transition to the nursery, we will bring Opal and her belly fully of the Miners Litter inside the house to help her find comfort in her den space in the annex.
Her puppies are due in just under a week, so one litter heads out just in time for another litter to arrive.
After the Miner’s litter (Baluster/Opal), the spring puppy season will end. We are not planning any further litters until the fall… despite what it says on the Future Litters page on our website.
We must focus on finding these precious souls their forever homes as well as finally being able to complete the new cabin spaces with their 10x30’ carport exterior area behind the cabins. That is going to take some effort and time.
You only have four more days to go active for the Dock of the Bay litter (Essex/Narissa) if you are interested in a puppy. On Thursday, we close the waiting list to any further activity for this litter.
If you want a puppy this spring, but you haven’t yet completed the puppy adoption questionnaire, click here:
https://direwolfproject.com/puppy-application/
If you want a puppy this spring, have completed the puppy adoption questionnaire and have been officially approved, then get your deposit in quick. Follow the instructions on the approval email. Then, let me know right away you want to go active for this litter.
Time is running out.
There were quite a few of you interested in the Miner’s Litter (Baluster/Opal). I have spoken with many of you and am working on getting your names starred on the waiting list.
You still have about five weeks before we close this litter. No rush yet, but don’t wait until the last minute.
If you have questions about how the process works, reply to this email and let me know.
