LIGHTS!  CAMERA!  ACTION!

A DireWolf Dog might be in a NY feature film!

Over the weekend, a movie director named Sara Crow contacted the Dire Wolf Project.

Sara is especially passionate about telling stories of subcultures, misfits, and those who operate on the fringes of society.

She is shooting a new narrative feature film near New York City entitled “Satoshi”.

She wanted to know if any of our more wolfier looking DireWolf Dogs living in the Tri-State area might be willing to participate in a single shot for her film.

Sara is a 2024 Sundance Screenwriters Lab fellow and the recipient of the Sloan Sundance Fellowship with her first narrative feature "Satoshi," which she is writing and directing with David Rafailedes. "Satoshi" received the $100,000 Sloan Feature Film Prize at NYU and is currently in pre-production.

Her debut narrative short film, "Bluebird", was awarded the Black Family Film Prize at NYU's Graduate Film program, where she was awarded the Martin Scorsese Scholarship and a Maurice Kanbar Scholarship.

I sent Sara quite a few different pictures of various DireWolf Dogs living in that area for her consideration.

She honed in on one dog with the look she was after.

I will now be contacting this dog’s family to find out if they would be willing to participate in the film project.

Once I know for certain if things are going to work out for a DireWolf Dog to represent the Dire Wolf Project in Satoshi, I will make the big announcement.

Even being asked feels like such an honor, though!
