BREAKING NEWS: Cleveland, Ohio Wolf Dog Attack!
By Jennifer Stoeckl, MAT - Dire Wolf Project CEO, Aug. 31, 2023
Oh man… this is so sad.
We were just talking about this yesterday and now there’s another tragic wolf dog attack.
This time in Cleveland, Ohio.
My heart aches for the victim and all involved, including the confused animal.
For those of you who don’t know, Ohio state allows wolf dogs of any percentage (1-99%) to be classified as domesticated dogs.
This means there is no special permit requirement to own one.
The most tragic thing about this particular situation is the fact that the owner claims his wolf dog is simply a shepherd/husky mix.
Uh…
Not even close!
His dog is clearly a MID to HIGH content wolf dog.
(See for yourself at the link below.)
Now, either he is deliberately lying, or he believed the breeder’s lie when he bought the dog.
Wolf dog ownership is on the rise… and breeders are cashing in.
This is a serious tragedy.
Many wolf dogs are mixed up, confused, unhappy animals their entire lives... only to be euthanized or dumped to fend for themselves before they are 2 years old.
Arguably, the most alarming aspect pertains to the wolf dog breeders.
I put the full weight of the issue on these unscrupulous people.
Some wolf dog breeders are genuinely uninformed, regardless of their claims of expertise.
Most are well aware of the misery they sow but remain indifferent to the suffering of the animals—be it the wolves, dogs, or hybrids—they exploit.
Evidently, little concern is directed towards the hazards their products pose to the public, especially to our children.
Hybrid breeding is an unrelenting enterprise, founded on ignorance, arrogance, and avarice—caring little for all other factors, from wolves to dogs to the tragic attacks.

Remember: The Dire Wolf Project is vehemently opposed to wolf dog breeding and ownership.
That is why the American Dirus dog is:
100% dog, 0% wolf
P.S. Yesterday’s Winged Wolf Clan zoom meet-up was so much fun! Thank you Headmaster Jo for putting that together. It’s wonderful to hear all about how our American Dirus dogs are doing and discuss ways to help one another.
Remember, Winged Wolf Clan meet-ups happen the last Wednesday of each month at 5pm Eastern.
I hope to see you in September!
