How these 3 litters are different

Yesterday, we talked about our biggest puppy ever born, Everest!

Today, I was thinking…

With three litters being raised all at once, it might get a little confusing.

So, in today’s email, I want to go over what commonalities and differences these litters have from one another in order to help you decide.

First of all, it’s important to note that the Harvest Litter is a second generation away from the most recent crossbreed: a black Lab/Shepherd cross.

Therefore, these puppies are going to have differences in inherited temperament compared to the other two litters.

If you are looking for a sweet-natured, loving dog with good energy to play with the kids or another dog, this litter would be ideal. These puppies may like to play fetch or carry things around in their mouths - per there Lab ancestry. But they will have what’s called a “soft mouth”, carrying things very gently.

The inherited webbed-feet in this litter may like water and want to learn to swim.

In general, this litter will have more stamina for play and going for hikes, walks, and camping, etc.

In outward appearance, these dogs will likely have shorter coats with water-wicking capabilities.

All puppies will have bright yellow eyes.

Some ears will rise, others may not.

Lots of blacks in this litter with a few wolf gray sables.

Furthermore, this litter will be on the smaller side. So, if you are looking at not wanting to go over 90 lbs., then this litter is definitely one to satisfy that requirement.

The Muscle Car and Mountain Peaks litters are very similar in inherited temperament.

Syrenka is a little more overtly confident than Albreta, but both are exceptionally sweet, devoted, and loving.

A consistent standardized large breed family companion dog temperament is really the best feature of both of these litters.

The giant size is in most puppies is also a bonus.

Here’s the link to the litter notes, a few great pictures, and all of the litter information for you to salivate over.

But there are a few differences in overall outward appearance between these two similar litters that should be noted.

Any puppy from the Mountain Peaks litter with a dark muzzle is actually a “wolf mask”, one of the coveted traits we’ve recently been working on increasing in the breed.

Whereas, Syrenka’s litter shows the true black mask that will remain dark as an adult.

Ears shall rise in both litters, with some having a more difficult time rising from the Mountain Peaks litter, especially the giant pups.

Eyes will tend to be darker in shade.
