How we price our puppies

So you’ve been eyeing those adorable American Dirus puppies, and maybe you’re wondering…

What’s the story behind their price tags?

Do they each come with a pot of gold?

Or maybe their own tiny treasure chest?

Well, sort of!

But we’ll get to that.

At the Dire Wolf Project, we price our puppies a little differently than other breeders.

Instead of pricing our puppies based on a general overall market trend, each puppy is individually priced based on what we feel they contribute to the future of the Dire Wolf Project.

It’s about genetics, folks!

Lois, our brilliant breed founder, sets her puppy prices in the $5,000 - $6,000 range.

Here at Dire Wolf Project headquarters, we keep it around $3,800 - $4,800.

But it’s not because some puppies are “better” than others.

Far from it!

Instead, it’s about our devotion to the breed’s strict standards.

When it comes to evaluating each pup, we’re like detectives on a case, considering all their little quirks and traits.

We look at each one.

With total objectivity.

Analyzing how their features, temperament, and build align with the breed’s future.

In other words, every puppy price reflects how much they contribute to achieving our Dire Wolf dreams!

Let’s make one thing clear:

The price is not a reflection of whether

a puppy will be a good family companion!

For instance, take Hamilton, our tiniest heartthrob.

Hamilton is precious, with a sweet, omega-dog personality.

Picture “Ferdinand the Bull” - soft, loving, and oh-so-snuggly!

Hamilton has everything we’d ever want in a companion.

But because we’re keeping three of his (larger) brothers for breeding, we’re able to price him a bit lower.

This has nothing to do with his quality as a pet!

If anything, Hamilton is an absolute gem.

Imagine a beautiful American Dirus with a laid-back, cuddly personality at a great price.

If you’re looking for a lovable, gentle dog who will be your loyal cuddle buddy, Hamilton is the one!

So if you’re scrolling through the puppies and see a range of prices, just know it’s not about who’s “best.”

Every American Dirus we have is wonderful in their own way!

P.S. Some of you have asked if we plan to do another DireWolf Express trip before the end of the year.

The answer is, yes, we will absolutely do another DireWolf Express trip after Thanksgiving when we have at least five puppies going.

It looks like we likely have two tickets sold already.
