Nine puppies rev their engines at the starting gate of life

Just when you thought it was safe to open the newest Dire Wolf Project email newsletter…
The BEST puppies on the planet arrive!
This litter is so good, they even amaze me.
The Muscle Car litter is so excellent they’re going to blow out your carbs and leave rubber on the pavement.
“Now, Jennifer.” I hear Jody-Lynn say in the back of the room. “Best puppies on the planet is surely a bit exaggerated. How can they possibly be the best puppies in the entire world.”
Well…
I’m so glad you asked!
First of all, we can eliminate all mixed breeds because there is no consistency of type in temperament, so you don’t know what you’re going to get.
So think of any purebred dog breed with a gentle, sweet, loving temperament.
Oh, say…
The Labrador Retriever, one of the most beloved dog breeds in the United States.
This breed is pretty great.
But I just birthed the Harvest Litter (a second generation Lab/Shepherd cross) and the differences from our purebred American Dirus dogs are vast.
Sweet… yes.
Loving… yes.
Gentle… yes.
But also:
- vocal
- wiggly
- complain when moved
- don’t give in easily
- Externally motivated
Of course, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the Harvest Litter.
They will be excellent pet dogs. No doubt.
But compare that to the Muscle Car Litter (FIFTH GENERATION).
Within hours of birth, I captured the following on video:
- Shelby (red) kissing her mom’s muzzle.
- Challenger (blue) snuggling up to momma’s neck.
- Shelby (red) swimming in mom’s fur, batting her paws around in the warmth.
- Puppies taking turns at the milk bar, no pushing.
Here’s another prime example of the intrinsically motivated nature of a purebred American dirus dog, like the puppies from the Muscle Car litter.
Shelby (red) lay draped over her brother, Mustang’s, neck.
It looked to me like Shelby (red) was smothering Mustang, so I went to move her slightly to “help” Mustang breath.
I felt the tension in Shelby’s body the moment I touched her.
Shelby refused to move away from Mustang when I tried to reposition her.
I wasn’t going to let this little newborn puppy tell me what to do!
“Oh no you don’t, missy!”
UNTIL…
The moment I lifted Shelby, Mustang "helped” by curving his body in such a way that made it more difficult for me to move Shelby from around his neck.
They both settled once I stopped interfering so they could snuggle.
That’s exactly what DireWolf Dogs are so famous for:
BUILDING INTIMATE RELATIONSHIPS!
And the Muscle Car litter has it in spades!
Now, I ask you…
Which other dog breed on the planet can claim this incredible level of selfless loving affection at only hours old?
Having intimate knowledge of so many dog breeds by breeding them as crossbreeds for the Dire Wolf Project, I know of no others.
If you want the best temperament with an incredible giant wolfie look, the Muscle Car litter has it all.
And…
One of the puppies was a BIG surprise!
Or dare I say… HUGE surprise!
He doesn’t look like ANY DireWolf Dog puppy that has ever been born.
Head on over to the Muscle Car litter page to see pictures and read the updated notes on all nine of these incredible puppies.
