Not Just Another Yeti Story

I have a most amazing story to share with you.

The other day, I was delivering a puppy to a town called Oroville that sits right on the Canadian border in northern Washington state. Monza Fastback is now with his forever home.

Several weeks ago, I shared with you the Frankenstein monster tale about Jennifer’s breeding practices. She had to have a La-Bore-a-tory, for how could our dogs be so amazing?

Yet… (and this is a big YET), I had proof of this, because my incredible search and rescue dog Cricket required a great deal more training than my heart dog Yeti.

But here is something you might not yet know. The MOUNTAIN PEAKS puppies are Yeti’s direct siblings! They are spawned from the very same parents.

On my way home from Oroville, I took Yeti to a special hiking place.

There is a heritage site where over a hundred years ago, lumberjacks of Washington state built a log flume where tree trunks traveled a great distance by river toward a mill. This was a common practice in the 1800s.

The hike is just a mile long trail that connects the heritage site with a Forest Service campground. Yeti and I walked from the campground to the heritage site and returned the same way we went.

But here is what is amazing.

The hike took us along a creek. But the creek was inaccessible for Yeti who was giving me a clear sign she wanted a drink. But except for the bridge crossing, the slopey banks lined with boulders and trees gave no clear path for poor Yeti.

As Yeti sought a place to drink, I knew that the only place was at the end of the trail where the bridge was. So… I called her off.

And each time I called her off, she turned around and rejoined me!

I mean, she appeared as if I had taken her through a year-long training course. But the moment I called her back to me, she did not hesitate for even a second.

For an untrained dog, this is incredible! Even I watch her with absolute awe.

I am in awe of Yeti.

I did not formally train her and YET…

THE MOST INCREDIBLE DOG I HAVE EVER SEEN.

And I wish I had time and opportunity to train her for search and rescue,

My story ends with the fact that I would tell Yeti each time that the path to the creek was still up ahead. “Just wait, Yeti, I will show you!”

Yeti looked at me with a similar awe. We are so connected. And Yeti knows well the word, WATER.

And when I guided her to the very path that takes her to a pebbly beach, she drinks her fill, turns to me, and practically wants to leap into my arms, she is so grateful.

So, I share with you this. The few puppies that are still up for sale in the Mountain Peaks Litter are…

of the SAME BLOODLINE AS YETI.

They are spawned from the SAME PARENTS!

This is the perfect time to get a puppy.

So long as Jennifer is up and feeling good again, the Puppy Express is still due for departure October 31st. That’s this Thursday.
