Regina Has Got This!

This morning I woke up after 11 a.m.

Wait! What? Yesterday you told us you woke up at 4:30 and now you’re sleeping in to 11???

INEXCUSABLE! DISGRACEFUL!

Well, not really. Yes, surprises happen when you wake up in the wee hours of the night—like nine puppies being born. So, I decided to avoid another nine being born by sleeping in this morning. Make sense? I knew you would understand.

Regina continues to do well, figuring out how to lay amongst her brood without laying on top of them. She was fairly inept at her on the job training yesterday as the puppies were born. Many would have died were it not for my intervention.

Now she is hovering over them like a pro. Puppies are cleaned and fed. I think if I taught Regina how, she would put them all into PJs and read them a bedtime story.

I thank so many of you who replied to my emails. It just makes all of this so worth it when I hear your words of encouragement and excitement surrounding our work.

Jennifer overnighted in Louisiana and is on her way to Texas today. She has already racked up over 6200 miles! She’ll be back to answering emails (and writing them) next week.  Cannot wait to have her home again.
