f you are new to our Dire Wolf Project Inner Circle email newsletter, welcome. We are so glad you have joined us. This is a 5x/week email newsletter (M-F) to keep you informed and help you learn about the Dire Wolf Project and the American Dirus dog breed.

As you may know, we have moved our business away from social media. This email newsletter is the main way we now communicate with you. While we will maintain our pages on Facebook and Instagram, they will not be the main vehicle of communication. The simple fact is that we can no longer reach the majority of our subscribers through that medium. If there was an important announcement, such as a litter arrival or change of future litter plans, paying for ads was the only way to reach you. Except, ads weren’t all that reliable, either. It simply was not feasible to continue our main presence there. We suspect many other businesses will be leaving social media in the near future because of these very reasons.

If you have been with us for a while, you know that we are consistent in our daily emails. We want you to be an informed dog owner; to know our dogs and our work. The Dire Wolf Project is more than a breeding facility. We are on a mission to fill the emptiness by providing everything you need to support a happy life with your American Dirus dog.

Today, we have a wonderful announcement for you.

Narissa (Dragon/Razar) has given birth to 6 beautiful puppies!

There is a wide color variety in this litter, ranging from light silver wolf sable with a white mask (puppies will look almost silvery white as adults) to a black wolf sable female that looks just like her mother, Narissa.

This is Narissa’s first litter. She is an excellent mother. She stays very still much of the time, nurturing and nuzzling her babies at just the right times. Such great mother instincts.

This litter is named the “Dock of the Bay” litter. It is a way for us to remember that the father is Essex. We always use names based on the sea or ocean for litters from this beautiful giant male.

Here is a picture of the puppies from this litter and their names:

Levee and Lock are males. The other four are females.

So far, they are extremely quiet and intelligent. They have already shown signs of their brain power by knowing how to pile themselves together when mom is away. This allows mom to be able to curl up around them when she returns. They also know when the blankets are changed and complain to me about the difference in smells. Great noses in this bunch of puppies.

Their first temperament test was excellent, better in many ways from the other current litter (Mr. Rogers Litter). The second temperament test will be conducted in another week’s time. We will be able to find out which puppies are more easy-going, more compliant, more independent, more stubborn, etc. It is such a fun thing to experience each puppy’s individual personality at such a young age.

Essex, the stud male for this litter, is a giant American Dirus dog. He weighs 135 lbs and stands 32 inches tall at the shoulders. Think about your countertops in your home. They are 36 inches tall. Essex’s shoulders are almost as tall as your countertops. He is a giant, dire wolf-sized male.

Some of these puppies will grow to his size. We will DNA test each puppy in this litter (and the other litter) in the next few days. Those results should help us determine if our suspicions for size are correct. We will report the findings here in our email newsletter when we have them.

We have already posted a bunch of information about the puppies in this litter on our website. Check out our notes on the Dock of the Bay litter here:

If you would like to be considered for a puppy from this litter, you must first complete our puppy adoption questionnaire so that we can get to know you better.
https://direwolfdogs.com/puppy-application/

After approval, you will be able to place a $600 nonrefundable deposit down to get on our waiting list. (This deposit will go toward your puppy at the time of sale.)

If you have been approved and placed your deposit, you are eligible to “go active” on the waiting list for this litter (or any of our officially confirmed litters).

You must let us know you want to go active before the puppies are four weeks old. We close the waiting list to any further activity for the litter once the puppies are four weeks old.

We will pass your name up on the waiting list if you are not active. You are responsible for letting us know. We have too many things to do around here to remember who wants to be considered for a puppy from which litter. That is why we write it down on the waiting list, so we won’t forget.

Here is a link to our waiting list:

If your name is not on it, or on it but not starred, we will not be considering you for a puppy from this litter. If this should be altered, contact us right away by replying to this email to let us know.

Blessings,
