The biggest puppy EVER BORN!
By Jennifer Stoeckl, MAT - Dire Wolf Project CEO, Sept. 2, 2024
Last week, we were surprised with the most unusual coat coloring ever seen at Dire Wolf Project headquarters.
A piebald!
This week, we were surprised with the biggest puppy EVER BORN!
In 2022, Baluster (Essex/Mary) broke the record for the largest newborn puppy ever at 1 lbs 10.5 oz.
Yesterday, a new record breaking newborn weight shattered Baluster’s record by an entire .5 oz!
Check this out…
The white male on the left is a NEWBORN PUPPY!!
I have never seen anything like it in my entire twenty year breeding career.
This boy TOWERS over his siblings.
His head is massive.
In fact, his head is the largest head circumference I have ever seen on any newborn puppy.
He has thick bone structure, too.
And when he arrived into the world, he was plump and muscular.
I mean… as if he had been at the milk bar for days before birth.
Typically, puppies are long and thin in size in order to flow through the birth canal with ease.
Not this guy!
Apparently, he hoarded all the nutrients he could in the womb.
Well, if you haven’t guessed by now…
The Mountain Peaks litter (Cookie Monster/Albreta) has arrived!
That is why this giant boy’s name is…
EVEREST!
And this guy is going to remain in the breed to help move the Dire Wolf Project forward toward its goals of producing the first ever bred back dire wolf in the world!
There were nine puppies born in the Mountain Peaks litter.
SIX BOYS
THREE GIRLS
And you can get the first glimpse of the magnificent beauty just underneath the glorious sunset to the west.
Talk about a fitting litter name!
In fact, I plan on keeping THREE MALES from this litter in the breed right off the bat.
Now, when a knowledgable breeder keeps a passel of puppies from a litter, you know the entire litter is epic.
Do NOT miss this one, folks.
If you are dreaming about our puppies, you are going to be hard-pressed to find a better choice.
If you’ve been waiting for just the right match… THIS IS IT!
I mean…
I am working hard to reproduce this litter’s greatness, but it takes time to bring this specific amazing combination to the entire breed.
If not now, when?
Alright… enough talking about it.
Here’s the link to the litter notes, a few great pictures, and all of the litter information for you to salivate over.
