This puppy may not pass his training class!

Anyone remember the countless times I may have said something about how training an American Dirus dog was different than other dogs?
How about this article I wrote on the differences between a companion dog versus a working dog…
https://direwolfproject.com/direwolf-guardians/companion-dog-training/what-is-a-companion-dog/
Or this article I wrote on how to train an American Dirus dog for service work compared to the typical dogs chosen as service dogs:
https://direwolfproject.com/blog/training-insights/do-american-alsatian-dogs-make-good-service-dogs/
And there are so many other great examples I’ve written throughout the years on this very important subject.
But I can write and make videos all day long about how our dogs are different.
It just isn’t the same as hearing it from a family who owns one of our dogs.
So, here is a wonderful update from Sköll, a 4-month-old American dirus puppy from the Monster Movie litter.
TAKE HEED!
The following description is TYPICAL of our dogs.
“Sköll aka:Godzilla, Monster-movie litter, is doing quite well. We are in a S.T.A.R. AKC puppy training program thru the end of the month, which, you were correct on 1 thing, (along with everything else, ha ha), any training requires PATIENCE with this breed. Sköll may not pass this class, because it seems he wants to work on things, on his time or his choice--not because our fantastic class instructor (dog trainer) says so. One minute he does all the required commands on que--next he lays down and he is done, no amount of treats will budge him as he stares at the other puppies in class. Sköll is extremely intelligent no doubt. Everyone he comes in contact with, falls in love with him. The 1st thing our Vet said "oh my! He is gorgeous and he WAS bred for his temperament and it shows". Nope Jennifer, we won't give him back, LOL. He is definitely our wolfpack & us, his. He was 61+ lbs last week at the vet for a follow up visit, and seems to be growing/gaining weight around 5lbs a week, so I'm guessing him now over 65 lbs @ 4 1/2 months! He is losing his puppy hair to his beautiful gray/silver wolf coat--but I will miss that soft coat that just screams TOUCH ME. I also did a comparison pic of Sköll side by side your recent Creature puppy photo, you kept from the litter, talk about "TWINNING"! I'll attach his today-photo with his 1 outside, collagen by Creature.
“Hope you & Jay are well!! Sköll & family are doing great in Minnesota!!”
Isn’t he just adorable?
And huge!!
65 lbs. already!!
Oh my.
His ears are going up, too.
What a CUTIE!
We have many more little ones just as sweet and wonderful as this boy.
But there is not a lot of time left.
The DireWolf Express heads out on the next puppy delivery October 31st.
