’ll start with some humor:

Q: Who loves you more, your dog or your spouse?

A: Lock them both up in a closet for three hours. When you let them out, see who’s happy to see you.

Here, I want to show you something.

This photo was taken at a friend’s house down in California near Mount Shasta. I was delivering Black Opal to them as they love black labs and Opal is a great fit to their family.

Opal (present but not seen) is snuggled up to Yeti who is snuggling up to me. The couple took several photos and I have yet to see a better representation of the pure love that exists within a dog.

Whenever I am doing tours (I’m in southern Oregon on my way to Crater Lake, the Redwoods, and San Francisco), and one of my tour guests asks me about my life, I pull out this photo. The image of Yeti gazing up at me is intoxicating.

There is no better friend any human person can have than a loyal, well-trained (and often spoiled) canine companion.

After my Cricket passed, I was friendless for about two years until Yeti was born. In retrospect, I do not know how I lived without one.

We had several litters born during that time. Every puppy was cute and cuddly and adorable, but I was not ready. And I wanted a dog who would be unique. Even when Cookie Monster bred with Albreta (both favorites), I had no inkling their offspring might be one for me.

Then they had a singleton. And that singleton was a rare white female puppy.  She wasn’t the sole survivor. She was the only one born!

What are the chances?

In fact, Yeti was the only singleton litter we had ever had. And her white coloring was rare. Jenn and I had to raise her and teach her the social skills she would never have from litter mates.

And that was when I knew. Yeti was the one for me. Two years and I had found my dear girl. And now, I cannot imagine life without her.

If you long for this experience in your own life, we presently have some of the most extraordinary puppies for sale. See them at:
