Surrogate Breeder - Program Overview
WELCOME to the world of the Dire Wolf Project™ and thank you for your interest in helping promote this extraordinary new dog breed. From all of us at Dire Wolf Project™ headquarters, we are honored you are willing to support the project in this more intimate way. The miracle of life is such a blessing. While there can be hardships and painful goodbyes, raising puppies is one of the most joyous endeavors one can pursue.
The Surrogate Breeder Program™ has been established as a way to allow interested owners the privilege of owning two or more of the BEST American Dirus™ dogs in the breed and create a positive cash flow in the process. Not only will you work closely with a certified Dire Wolf Project™ breeder to support Dire Wolf Project™ goals, but becoming a Surrogate Breeder™ can contribute to your own family's goals, as well.
Overall, the Surrogate Breeder Program™ is a way for both the Certified Breeder and the Surrogate Breeder™ to work together to better the lives of American Dirus™ breeding dogs and share the tough work of raising and finding great homes for American Dirus™ puppies.
Each Dire Wolf Project™ Certified Breeder can choose to work with up to FIVE Surrogate Breeders™.
The Surrogate Breeder buys into the Surrogate Breeder Program™ by agreeing to co-own TWO breeding dogs, a male and a female with a Dire Wolf Project™ Certified Breeder. These two co-owned dogs are matched by the Certified Breeder in accord with overall Dire Wolf Project™ needs. The Certified Breeder will take into account the family’s preferences, as much as possible.
The two co-owned breeding dogs are then raised and trained by the Surrogate Breeder. When the time comes, the Surrogate Breeder™ allows the dogs to breed. Any resulting puppies are owned SOLELY by the Certified Breeder. All paperwork/sales/temperament testing/travel arrangements/website updates/customer interaction is completed by the Certified Breeder. The Surrogate Breeder is responsible for all costs related to raising the puppies, but receives 50% of all the sales price for each puppy. The other 50% goes to the Certified Breeder. The Surrogate Breeder’s co-ownership contract remains in effect for four years. The Surrogate Breeder™ can choose to breed the two breeding dogs at anytime during that timeframe.
At the end of the contract, the female is required to be spayed. Once the contract has been fulfilled, the Surrogate Breeder can choose to enter into another co-ownership agreement with other breeding pairs (possibly just an additional breeding female that matches with the current male) for another 4 years, continuing the puppy raising process and earning 50% of all sales for the litters they produce.
Basically, the Surrogate Breeder is a puppy raiser for the Dire Wolf Project. It is a good bit of extra income for a family interested in promoting the Dire Wolf Project™.
