This program not only allows families to own and raise two or more exceptional dogs but also provides an opportunity for them to earn a positive cash flow while supporting the goals of the Dire Wolf Project™.
Program Goals

Key Features of the Surrogate Breeder Program™
- Co-Ownership Model
- The Surrogate Breeder buys into the program by agreeing to co-own two breeding dogs (one male and one female) with a certified Dire Wolf Project™ breeder.
- The dogs are carefully matched by the certified breeder to align with the overall needs of the Dire Wolf Project™ while considering the family’s preferences as much as possible.
- The co-ownership agreement spans four years, providing clarity and structure to the partnership.
- Breeding and Puppy Ownership
- The Surrogate Breeder raises and trains the co-owned dogs until they reach breeding age.
- Breeding occurs at a time determined by the Surrogate Breeder within the four-year contract period.
- Any resulting puppies are solely owned by the certified breeder.
- Responsibilities
- Surrogate Breeder Responsibilities:
- Daily care, training, and socialization of the co-owned breeding dogs.
- Whelping, raising, and caring for puppies until they are eight weeks old.
- Covering all costs associated with raising the puppies, including veterinary care, food, and supplies.
- Providing specific pictures, videos, temperament testing results, and regular updates as required.
- Certified Breeder Responsibilities:
- Managing all marketing, sales, temperament testing, customer interactions, and travel arrangements for the puppies.
- Ensuring that puppies are placed in loving, suitable homes.
- Supporting the Surrogate Breeder with guidance, training, and resources.
- Surrogate Breeder Responsibilities:
- Compensation
- The Surrogate Breeder receives 50% of the sales price for each puppy sold.
- The certified breeder retains the other 50%, covering their role in marketing, placement, and project oversight.
- End of Contract and Renewal Options
- At the end of the four-year contract, the female breeding dog is required to be spayed, ensuring she is retired from breeding.
- The Surrogate Breeder may opt to enter into a new co-ownership agreement with additional breeding dogs, continuing their role in the program.
- Scalability and Certification
- Each certified breeder may work with up to five Surrogate Breeders™ at a time, allowing for sustainable growth and oversight.
- A comprehensive training and certification process ensures all Surrogate Breeders™ are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to whelp and raise puppies to Dire Wolf Project™ standards.
- Training can be conducted online and includes modules on whelping, puppy care, quality control, and communication with certified breeders.
- A graduation certificate is awarded upon completion, signifying readiness to participate in the program.
