Zorro's Reflection: When hearing a startling sound, Reflection initially reacted instinctually by dropping down, but immediately returned to play. He receives a score of 8 for this category. This was not out of fear, as he was not stiff or traumatized with a racing heartbeat, but out of stubbornness and determination. He receives a score of 6 for this category. When placed for the first time in a hard wicker basket, he looked around and whined slightly. He receives a score of 8 for this category. When placed back away from his littermates, he chose to stay where he was placed and fall asleep. He receives a score of 10+ for this category. Zorro's Masquerade: When hearing a startling sound, masquerade ducked down and startled a bit. She returned to play, but seemed to be a bit more cautious afterwards. She receives a score of 10 for this category. During the mother's pick-up, she was quiet relaxed throughout, even arching her back to aide in the ease of pick-up. When placed for the first time in a hard wicker basket, she looked around for a bit, then grew impatient and upset, whining and trying to get out of the basket to return to the comfort of her pack. She receives a score of 6 for this category. When placed back with her littermates, she chose to fall asleep without sound, showing absolutely no distress or discomfort. Zorro's Rival: When hearing a startling sound, Rival initially reacted instinctually by dropping down, but immediately returned to play, showing no residual trauma or fear. He receives a score of 8 for this category. During the harsh pet he grunted quietly, but moved his head in the direction of the pet, even sitting up slightly moving his head up into the hand. He receives a score of 10+ for this category. During the mother's pick-up, he was quite relaxed throughout. He receives a score of 10 for this category. When placed on his back he was very relaxed and accepting of the submissive position. He was in no way effected by the turn and did not try to right himself, but submitted easily. He receives a score of 10+ for this category. When placed in the basket, he whined loudly in discomfort and tried to get out and return to the comfort of his pack. He receives a score of 6 for this category. When placed back away from his littermates, he was absolutely quiet with no signs of distress, but confident enough to move himself back to the warmth of the pack. Zorro's Legacy: When hearing a startling sound, Legacy did initially reacted instinctually by crouching down, but immediately returned to play with absolutely no fear or trauma. On subsequent trials, he did not crouch at all at the sound, was not traumatized and continued to play. (He can hear). He receives a score of 9 for this category. During the harsh pet he grunted quietly, but moved his head in the direction of the pet. He receives a score of 10+ for this category. During the mother's pick-up, he was completely relaxed and quiet. He was easy to pick up because his body remained as relaxed as when he was sleeping. He did not even seem to wake. He receives a score of 10 for this category. When placed on his back, again he was completely relaxed. He looked up at the handler in acknowledgement, but was completely quiet and not stiff or traumatized in any way. He receives a score of 10+ for this category. When placed in the basket for the very first time, he sniffed a bit and moved slightly in the direction of the basket's edge, but did not show distress and was quiet throughout.
