Health:

Gunnison is extremely healthy. He has not had any tremors, seizures, weakness in the legs or feet, limping, panosteitis symptoms, issues with her eyes or ears, excessive scratching or other allergy symptoms, soft stools, etc. He runs, jumps, lopes, lies down, etc without any difficulty. He has never showed signs of pain or any symptoms of illness at any time.  He is extremely healthy and vibrant. Gunnison has been DNA tested and is clear and not a carrier for 165 genetic diseases.

Temperament:

Gunnison is a very smart dog. He learns very quickly and complies well when asked to do things he may not ultimately want to do. Gunnison does not like to be alone. He loves human affection and attention. He loves being groomed and pet. He prefers chew toys, soft plush toys and puzzle solving toys rather than higher energy activities, such fetch and chase. Gunnison is a submissive dog and bends to the will of others with ease. He tends to hold a grudge when corrected too harshly. He only needs a very soft type of correction and does not like yelling or others being upset. Gunnison is aloof to strangers, but doesn't mind being pet by them. Gunnison is a confident dog, but looks to his owners to show him new things. He is not an outgoing dog, but a thinking type, instead. Gunnison is highly alert to his surroundings and notices differences or changes quickly. He has lower energy and has an easy time relaxing. Gunnison has a lower drive does not have a tendency to care about birds or other critters that run. He is a very willing dog although he is slightly more independent than is typical. He does not mind being out of sight of his owners and can keep a larger territory surrounding his home base. Gunnison is appropriately touch sensitive and takes very little touch to notice something different is needed. He has an uncanny ability to read human emotion and alter his own emotion to match. Gunnison possesses a high pain tolerance. It takes a lot of real pain before him yelps or makes others aware.

Conformation:

Gunnison has more of a long body type where his height is overall shorter in measurement than his length from chest to rump. Gunnison shows a medium sized foot structure. He is a black silver wolf gray colored dog with short medium length fur and medium undercoat.  He shows light amber colored eyes that glow a yellow color when highlighted by the sun. Gunnison's head is broad as well as his muzzle. He has a black mask covering his muzzle and was born with deep black pigmentation throughout apart from a little patch of white on his chest. Gunnison shows white hairs in his ears and in between the toes on his feet. Gunnison is on the small side of the breed and may only reach a height of 26 inches tall and weigh around 85 to 90 pounds. His ears will rise although they have yet to do so and his tail does not curl over the back in any way. 

Faults:

Gunnison shows no faults in health at this time. Gunnison is a bit too independent for our breed. Gunnison is overall too small for the breed standards. Gunnison shows a more prominent stop than we like in the breed.
