He weighed 1 lb 2 oz at birth.

He is quiet and calm and did not mind the scale, although he looked around somewhat for where he was. He came into the world as a breach puppy with the sack broken. I helped birth this puppy so that he would not linger too long in the birthing canal and try to breath. Worked out perfectly. This puppy fusses when he doesn't get his way.

This puppy came into the world very quiet and calm. He was a breach puppy without a sack and was helped out of the birthing canal. He does not mind mom licking or moving him, but can easily find himself in a place that is unfamiliar when mom moves him. This puppy receives a score of 7 for this section.

This puppy is a screamer when in distress. He seems to vocalize only when he is in a position in which he does not know how to move forward and is uncomfortable. This puppy is often in such a position and finds himself in distress quite a bit. Otherwise he is quiet. This puppy receives a score of 4 for this section.

This puppy is very calm and does not move much. He stays in place when in distress and does not work out his situation, but cries for help instead. This puppy is very content to be near mom where the milk is located and works to stay with the pack. This puppy moved his head from side to side, but did not move in a circle and did not work to climb off the scale. He grunted softly during this time. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this section.

This puppy initially stiffened and then released and then stiffened and then released into a very loose position. He then lay still and did not make a sound during this time. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this section.

6. What is the reaction of this pup when placed back with its mother?
This puppy wobbled his head back and forth from side to side and immediately moved in a straight direction. He cried out and grunted throughout this time until he bumped into his sibling. At that point he moved more quickly back to mom and the puppy pile. This puppy receives a score of 7 for this section.

7. What is the reaction of this pup when touched by a human?

This puppy wobbled his head back and forth, but did not attempt to move either forward or backward. He was not stiff and did softly grunt. This puppy receives as score of 8 for this section.

This puppy initially flinched, as all puppies did, but he remained still and quiet for several seconds after the sound had ended. After this period of stillness, he laid his head down and closed his eyes. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this section.

This puppy moved in anticipation of the pet. His body was loose and he remained quiet throughout. This puppy did not show stiffness in the head, but did yawn three times. This puppy receives a score of 9 for this section.

This puppy was silent throughout this section. He did pump his back legs a bit, but it was a slow motion and the rest of his body remained relaxed. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this section.

This puppy was loose, still, and quiet during the entire turn. This puppy receives a score of 10 for this section.

This puppy sat still for a moment, the moved his head from side to side in a slow, but methodical, manner. He then began to grunt softly as he rose and wobbled around the basket. This puppy receives a score of 7 for this section.

1. Replace the pup back near its siblings, but not with them.  How does the pup react?

This puppy was quiet, but immediately moved about as if searching. He moved his body around sniffing in front of him. It only took him two seconds to be able to go confidently back to the pile. This puppy receives a score of 9 for this section.
