This puppy moved about the bottom of the basket.  She eventually looked up and moved her head to try and see over, but she could not.  She continued, then, to move about the basket floor crying out softly as if lonely or wanting to be with her siblings.  She receives a score of 7 for this category.

This puppy immediately squatted to pee and move back to the pile of puppies.  She did not look back at the handler or stay to get pet.  Upon returning to her siblings, she moved to place herself on the top of the pile and went to sleep.  This puppy receives a score of 9 for this category.

Temperament Test #3 - 6 weeks

What is the reaction to a dropped loud object?

This puppy initially flinched with the loud sound, but within one second she was up from her startled surprise.  She went to investigate the object and licked it. This puppy receives a score of 10 for this category.

What is the reaction when pup is roughly pet?

This puppy moved into the pet and looked up at the handler moving her head to lick the handler's hand.  She was perky and alert and in no way was there any stiffness.  She was loose and quiet.  She then began moving toward the handler and putting her paw gently on the handler's leg while she was being pet.  She continued to look up at the handler and move her head into the pet.  This puppy receives a score of 10+ for this category.

What is the reaction when pup is picked up?

This puppy was loose and relaxed throughout the entire lift.  She held her mouth closed and her head straight ahead in front of her.  She did slightly move her head and eyes to look around, but only without looseness and without energy.  Her tail was slightly curled, but her legs was loose and her body limp.  This puppy receives a score of 9 for this category.

What is the reaction of this pup when it is turned over on its back?

This puppy looked directly into the handler's eyes.  She was completely limp, including her tail and did not make a sound.  She did not move throughout the turn and allowed the handler to turn her back over.  She was not traumatized by this category in any way.  This puppy receives a score of 10 for this category.

What is the reaction of this pup when it is placed in a wicker basket?

This puppy initially stayed still when placed into the basket.  She was quiet and loose.  This puppy was not stiff or in any way upset about being in the basket.  She looked around her and eventually moved to the side of the basket closest to the handler.  She looked over the basket toward the handler and then gently and without energy placed her paws onto the side of the basket and looked at the handler, slightly wagging her tail.  She then jumped back down into the basket and sniffed the sides.  This puppy receives a score of 10 for this category.

What is the reaction of this pup when it is placed back away from siblings?

This puppy turned right around and wagged her tail gently looking up at the handler.  She moved closer to the handler placing her paw onto her leg.  She noticeably wanted to be picked back up and held.  She was completely silent during this part of the test.  This puppy receives a score of 10+ for this category.

Lady is a small female that is light in weight, but her temperament cannot be beat.  She is super quiet and very calm and mellow.  She's a thinker and sniffs then sits and thinks about the scent.  She stayed still on the photo booth and on the scale.  She doesn't mind being turned over or picked up.  A very lovely female.  Her eyes are now opening.
